In the story of Esau selling his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of lentil soup (Gen 25:29–34) we discover his indifference to the great privilege of birthright.
We too have been given the great privilege of birthright by God through Jesus Christ. We have been offered the endless joys of heaven as His adopted children. But in our ignorance and indifference we too have often sold it for the shallow pleasures of this world.
Everything that this world has to offer is merely a bowl of lentil soup compared to our birthright as children of God in Whom all is ours.
